WICHITA The Halstead High School track team didn't have many athletes in the Class 3A state track meet, but made the most of its very small contingent.?The Halstead girls had just one athlete at state who will come away with two medals. Sophomore Jena Black finished fourth in the javelin at 125-9 and fifth in the discus in 110-8.?Matthew Rodenberg, the sole athlete for the Halstead boys, placed third in the triple jump in 43-8 3/4 to claim a medal. He finished seventh overall in the prelims of the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 41.57 to advance to the finals.?For the Sedgwick girls, the team of Quinn Noon, Jamie Lovett, Maggie Rohr and Beth Francis won its heat of the 4x100-meter relay with the top overall time of 50.79 to move to the finals.?Lovett finished second in her heat of the 400-meter dash in 1:00.24, third best in prelims.?Francis finished second in her heat of the 200-meter dash prelims in 26.90, fourth overall. Lovett finished sixth overall in 26.85 to advance to the finals.?Logan Thompson took 12th in the shot put in 47-11.?Remington's sole entry, senior Caleb Tanner, snagged the final medal of the long jump, taking eighth in 20-5 1/4.
