  • Three softball players sign with HC

  • HESSTON — Hesston College softball coach Andrew Sharp signed Tihani Palomares of Mililani, Hawaii, Whitney Bilbao of Elko, Nev., and Tricia Ogle of Elko, Nev., to a letter of intent to play for the Larks beginning this fall.?Palomares is an infielder and pitcher for Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii, where she served as a team captain as a senior. She was named to the New City Nissan Goodwill Classic, an all-star game for players from the island of Oahu.?"Tihani will add a lot to next year's team," Sharp said. "Our program thrives with student athletes willing to fully immerse themselves in community, and I am excited about what Tihani will contribute both on and off the field."?She is the third Hawaiian in recent years to play for the Larks.?She attends Grace Bible Church Pearlside, where she is a youth group leader. She intends to study secondary education at Hesston.?Bilbao is an infielder who earned all-league honorable mention for Elko High School. She also played volleyball in high school.?Ogle was a two-time all-league and all-state selection at outfield for Elko High School. She was the team's defensive player of the year in 2011.?Ogle and Bilbao helped lead Elko the state finals in 2011.?"We're thrilled to have Whitney and Tricia on board," Sharp said. "They'll add speed, athleticism and a defensive presence to the field. They're two quality students who will help us compete on the field. I'm looking forward to working with them."
