HESSTON — Hesston College signed Sydni Carter of Muskogee, Okla., to play basketball and soccer for the Larks.?Also signed for women's soccer was Dusti Diener of Harrisonville, Mo.?Carter played for Muskogee High School.?She was a midfielder and defender in soccer. In basketball, she was the starting center, averaging 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds a game as a senior. The basketball team finished the season ranked second in the state.?"I’m excited to have Sydni join the Hesston soccer program,” Hesston soccer coach Bryan Kehr said. “I’ve been impressed with Sydni's effort in game situations. She’s a very personable young woman and I believe she’ll have a positive impact on our team chemistry and, as a student, be a great addition to the Hesston College community."?Carter was a member of the student council and yearbook staff. She was involved with the local NAACP Youth Chapter. She was a National Honor Society member and on the honor roll. She is a member of the Rayfield Baptist Church in Muskogee. She intends to major in nursing.?Deiner was a midfielder-defender from Raymore-Peculiar High School. She also played tennis in high school.?“As a dual-sport athlete who had scholarship opportunities in both tennis and soccer, I am delighted that Dusti has chosen to play soccer at Hesston College,” Kehr said. “Dusti is a great addition to the Larks soccer program and I look forward to her development. She will be a strong addition to the Hesston College campus."
