HUTCHINSON — The Hesston High School boys’ tennis team swept a pair of dual meets Friday at the Fairgounds Tennis Center in Hutchinson. Hesston downed Conway Springs 8-1 and Central Plains 7-2. “I really like the format of this event, as it is the only time kids get to play both singles and double,” Hesston coach Mark Dahlsten said. “Our kids did well, especially considering the limited practice time we have had. I felt like we were really good in the doubles portion in sweeping all of those matches pretty easily. We had to work hard in singles, but competed well. I felt like our depth would make us tough to beat in this format, and that proved to be the case.” Hesston competes today in the Hillsboro Invitational.
