  • GODDARD Newton High School sent five athletes to the Goddard Powerlifting Invitational Saturday.?Newton placed fourth out of 13 teams.?Senior Titus Minkevitch won the 198-pound class at 1,080 pounds. Minkevitch had a 300-pound bench, a 435-pound squad and a 345-pound clean lift, winning all three lifts.?Junior Kyle McDermed won the 220-pound class at 920 pounds. McDermed had a 405 squad for first, a 265-pound bench and a 250-pound clean.?Junior Cory Martens won the 242-pound class at 930 pounds. Martens won the squat at 400 pounds and the clean at 310. He benched 275 pounds.?Junior Justin Mosiman won the power weight division at 980 pounds. Mosiman won the squat at 440 pounds and the clean at 265 pounds. He had a 275 pound bench.?Senior Jordan Johnson took second in the 165-pound class at 850 pounds. Johnson won the squat at 395. He had a 210 bench and a 245 clean.
