    WHITEWATER — The Remington Bronco girls’ basketball team opened Class 3A sub-state play with a 47-26 quarterfinal win over Wichita Independent Wednesday in rural Whitewater.?Remington led 12-6 after the first quarter and 26-13 at the half. Remington put things away with a 13-7 third quarter.?Kylee Schunn scored 19 points for Remington. Kristyn Wedel added nine points.?Wichita Independent, 6-15, was led by Alise Coccetella with nine points.?Remington is 14-7 and plays host Conway Springs at 7:30 p.m. today.
