    • EDITOR’S NOTE: Sean Considine is providing a daily diary from New Orleans leading up to Sunday’s Super Bowl. This is his Wednesday installment.
Just finished up practice No. 2 and I have to squeeze my entry in on our bus ride back to the hotel. All my family arrived safe and sound in New Orleans and I can’t wait to see everyone. The Ravens have a welcome party planned for all family members tonight. Should be a good time.
I told you yesterday that our field at Tulane wasn’t the best situation. Well, Coach Harbaugh pulled some strings and got us on the Saints practice field after San Fran was done using it. I joked with Coach that he must really trust his brother. He said they had our security guys everywhere and did a thorough sweep of the place just to make sure no cameras or people were there while we practiced.
I don’t think the NFL was really happy about us pulling the plug on the Tulane baseball field, but a change needed to take place. Just from practicing on it one time, I woke up this morning feeling real sore. Whatever we have to do to feel great on Sunday afternoon is clearly our top priority.
We had a good practice. On Thursday we always install our third-down and red-zone packages. On special teams, we installed our kick-return and punt-return packages. So as of tonight everything we plan on doing is in the books. Tomorrow we call the practice a fast Friday; it’s shorter but up-tempo as we rehearse everything full speed one last time.
We have to meet with the media every day from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. About halfway through today’s session, a guy from the NFL came up and said I had to remove my hat. I had on our AFC championship hat; forgot it wasn’t the official Super Bowl hat they gave us. If I get fined for my hat, I am not gonna be happy.
My brother is all of a sudden my public relations guy. Ryan and my cousin listen to The Score all the time, so somehow he contacted them and set up an interview with Boers and Bernstein for tomorrow. I guess my brother doesn’t think I have received enough media attention this week. Gotta love little brothers.
