  • Three people were injured Wednesday morning on I-135 in an accident caused by slick roads.
According to Harvey County Sheriff reports, at about 6:30 a.m., a 26-year-old man from Wichita slid into the guard rail of the median as he was driving north. He was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup. He got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage and his truck was hit by another vehicle. That vehicle was a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by a 61-year-old man from Wichita. The impact pushed the vehicle into the first driver.
Names had not been released as of Wednesday afternoon.
The 26-year-old was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita and was reported to be in critical condition. His passenger was not injured.
The 61-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was transported by ambulance in serious condition to Newton Medical Center and later transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His passenger was also transported to Newton Medical Center in non-serious condition.
Personnel from the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office, Newton Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Newton Fire/EMS assisted at the scene of the accident.
