GOESSEL ― Helen Fornwalt, 96, died Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) at the Bethesda Home in Goessel.
She was born March 18, 1916, in Reno County to Frank and Maude (Woodson) Dutton. She married George Fornwalt, and he preceded her in death.
Helen was a farm wife and greatly enjoyed farm life. She loved to garden and can her harvest. She was known as an amazing baker and especially for her cookies, which she loved to share.
Helen spent her relaxation time painting. She enjoyed the wildlife on the farm, especially the deer. Helen looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
She is survived by her son, Jack Fornwalt of Newton; and daughters, Judy Kyle of Mountain Home, Ark., and Jennie Merritt of Spring Hill.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandsons and her siblings.
A graveside committal service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Laredo Cemetery in Rural Reno County. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.
