  • Moundridge boys fall to Andale

  • HALSTEAD — The Moundridge High School boys’ basketball team struggled to stay with Andale in the second half, falling to the Indians 64-46 Saturday in the finals of the 43rd Adolph Rupp Invitational in Halstead. Andale led 11-8 after the first quarter and 25-20 at the half. The Indians pulled away with a 22-9 third quarter. It was the second straight title for Andale and the sixth overall for the Indians. Gerad Deaver led Andale with 16 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Ben Seiler with 11 points and Hunter Knoblauch with 10 points. Andale improves to 11-1. Moundridge, 8-4, was led by Ryan Lorimor with 12 points. Tyler Kaufman and Daniel Ratzlaff scored nine points each. Moundridge hosts Goessel Friday in non-league play.
