  • PREP GIRLS Non-League Moundridge 51, Goessel 29
    MOUNDRIDGE — Mackenzie Suderman scored 17 points to lead the Moundridge Wildcat girls to a 51-29 win over the Goessel Bluebirds Saturday in non-league play in Moundridge. Down 6-4 at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats broke out with a 23-5 second quarter, leading 27-11 at the half. The Wildcats pulled away further in the fourth quarter. Ashley Holler and Brooke Holloway each scored 10 points for Moundridge. Jessica Harvey and Alex Hiebert each scoered nine points for Goessel. Goessel falls to 5-5 and plays this week in the Eli J. Walter Invitational in Elbing. Moundridge is 8-2 and plays at the Haven Invitational, which starts Thursday.

    PREP BOYS Canton-Galva Inv. Ell-Saline 41, Sedgwick 27
    CANTON — The Sedgwick Cardinal boys had trouble finding its offense, falling to Heart of America League rival Ell-Saline 41-27 Friday in the consolation finals of the Canton-Galva Invitational. Ell-Saline led 13-9 after the first quarter and 25-13 at the half. Sedgwick was held to two points in the fourth quarter. Kaleb Whitehair scored 13 points for Ell-Saline, 6-6. Toby Omli added 12. Sedgwick was led by Logan Thompson with eight points. Sedgwick, 5-6, plays Jan. 29 at home against Bennington.

    Wings fall to Lancers
    PARK CITY — The Wichita Wings fell to the Rochester Lancers 19-10 Friday in Major Indoor Soccer League play at Hartman Arena. Andy Tiedt and Mauricio Salles each scored two goals for Rochester, 6-10. Stephen Basso, Evan McNeley, Doug Miller and Kyle Manscuk each scored a goal. Andrew Hoxie and Frederico Moojen each scored two goals for Wichita. Tiguinho added a goal. Victor Quiroz had two assists. Rochester had three 3-point goals to none for the Wings. Patrick Hannagan had 18 saves in goal for Rochester. Sanaldo has seven saves for Wichita. The Wings fall to 6-9 and play Monday at Chicago.
    Thunder drops third straight
    WICHITA — The Wichita Thunder dropped its third straight game, losing to the Tulsa Oilers 4-2 Friday in Central Hockey League play at Intrust Bank Arena. Tulsa scored three goals in the third period to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Ryan Menei, Ben Gordon and Drew Fisher each scored a goal with an assist for the Oilers. Patrick Schafer added a goal. Matt Robinson and Dustin Donaghy each scored a goal for Wichita. Andrew Martens had two assists. Shane Maldora had 25 saves for Tulsa. Kevin Regan had 18 saves for Wichita. The Thunder falls to 21-14-3, seven points out of first place. Tulsa improves to 11-24-3. Wichita plays today and Sunday at Tulsa.
