    HESSTON — The Hesston Swather girls downed cross-county rival Halstead 68-24 Friday in Hesston. Leading 13-11 after the first quarter, Hesston held Halstead to five points in the second quarter and no points in the third. Ashley Weaver led Hesston with 15 points, followed by Caylee Richardson with 14 and Megan Voth with 12. Sydney Beat scored 11 points for Halstead. Hesston plays this week at the Hillsboro Invitational. Halstead plays next week at the Haven Invitational.

Hesston used a 10-4 second quarter to lead 27-24 at the half. Kelsey Unruh led Hesston, 9-0, with 19 points. Caylee Richardson added 15 points. Holcomb was led by Kyshia Prieto with 15 points. Kylee Amos added 10 points. Hesston plays today’s Hillsboro—Thomas More Prep-Marian winner at 8 p.m. Thursday.
