Allean (McGaugh) Roller, 96, transitioned from this world to eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Kansas Christian Home.
She was born in Dewey, Okla., on May 27, 1916, to Allen W. and Anna C. (Webb) McGaugh. She graduated from Newton High School.
She was a retired cosmetologist and hairdresser. Allean married Robert (Bob) Roller, and he preceded her in death. Allean liked bird watching, gardening and cooking. Allean loved her church and loved serving others. She enjoyed her life and enjoyed spending time with her loving family and many friends.
Allean is survived by sisters, Daisy Connolly of Wichita, and Anna Mae Owens of San Bernardino, Calif. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, William H. “Willy” Roller; sisters, Louise McGaugh and Florence McGaugh; and seven brothers, Lawrence, Gene, Ray, Jessie, Clarence, Herman and John McGaugh.
A celebration of Allean’s life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Darryl Fox presiding. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Second Baptist Church, in care of Petersen Funeral Home of Newton.
