HUTCHINSON — Newton High School graduate Tyler Rambo, a sophomore at Hutchinson Community College, placed 12th in the shot put at the National Junior College Athletic Association Track and Field Championships Friday at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson. Rambo had a best of 14.70 meters (48-2 3/4). After two days of competition, Hutchinson leads Iowa Central Community College 37-32. Competition continues today.

The webcasts are free and available at kshsaa.playonsports.com. Newton High School has 11 competitors in the Class 5-4-3-2-1A state swimming meet, which begins at 4 p.m. today.
