Wichita Wings make trade
PARK CITY — The Wichita Wings indoor soccer team traded midfielders Jamar Beasley and Bryan Perez to the Syracuse Silver Knights for midfielder Andre Berenzon and forward Matt Clare, pending league approval. Berenzon is from San Paolo, Brazil. A pro since age 17, he began his indoor career in 2008 with the Rockford Rampage. He was named to the all-rookie team. He also led the team to the MISL championship. He later played with the Chicago Riot and Syracuse. Last season, he scored 20 goals in five games before his season ended because of injury. Clare is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He played outdoor for FC Tampa Bay of the new North American Soccer League. He played indoor with Norfolk, scoring 20 goals and 48 points last season. “We are really excited about the addition of Matt and Andre,” Wichita coach LeBaron Hollimon said. “They’re both quality players, and players that can help the team turn things around to head in the right direction. We hate losing guys like Perez and Beasley, but we’re confident that their replacements will allow us to achieve the goals we have set out to accomplish for the year.” Wichita plays at 7:35 p.m. Dec. 7 at Baltimore. A webcast will be available at www.uslnation.com/misl.
