  • Thunder holds off MallardsWICHITA — Ryan Flanigan and R.G. Flath each scored a goal with an assist to lead the Wichita Thunder to a 4-3 win over the Quad City Mallards Friday in Central Hockey League play at the Intrust Bank Arena. Wichita led 3-0 late in the second period, but Quad City outscored Wichita 3-1 the rest of the way. Flath posted his 100th pro assist. He is seven goals away from 100 and seven points away from 200 career points. Ian Lowe and Les Reaney each added a goal for Wichita. Kevin Young had two assists. Chad Painchaud, Andrew Martins and Aaron Boogaard each had an assist. Mike Stinziani and Mickey Lang each scored a goal with an assist for Quad City. Brett Robinson added a goal. Bob Preece, Matt Boyd and Matt Duffy each had an assist for the Mallards. Wichita goalie Kevin Regan stopped 17 of 20 shots in goal for the win. Quad City’s John Murray stopped 33 of 37 shots. Wichita improves to 9-5-2, moving into second place in the CHL standings, three points behind Allen. Quad City falls to 5-5-3. Wichita hosts Fort Worth at 7:05 p.m. today.Wings fall to BaltimorePARK CITY — The Wichita Wings fell to the Baltimore Blast 15-8 Friday in Major Indoor Soccer League play Friday at Hartman Arena. Machel Millwood scored two goals with an assist for Baltimore. Jean Max Ferdinand scored a goal with three assists. Aduato Neto-Calheira scored a goal with an assist. Tony Donatelli, Michael Lookingland and Patrick Healey each added a goal. For Wichita, Frederico Moojen scored two goals. Andrew Hoxie and Bryan Perez each added a goal. Chris Lemons had two assists. William Vanzela had 11 saves in goal for the Blast. Sanaldo Freitas de Carvalho had six saves for Wichita. Baltimore led 8-2 at the half and 8-4 after three quarters, but outscored Wichita 15-8 in the fourth quarter. Wichita was outshot 29-18. Wichita falls to 1-4. Baltimore improves to 6-0.
