WICHITA — The Wichita Thunder downed the Bloomington Blaze 5-1 Wednesday in Central Hockey League play at the Intrust Bank Arena. Les Reaney scored two goals with an assist to lead the Thunder. Ian Lowe, Ryan Flanigan and R.G. Flath each added a goal. Dave Inman had two assists for Wichita. Jon Madden, Erick Lizon, Kevin Young, Travis Wight and Nathan Lutz each had an assist. Kevin Regan stopped 24 of 25 shots in goal for Wichita to pick up the win. Wichita scored a goal in the first period, two in the second and two in the third. Bloomington’s goal came in the second period from David Gilbert with assists from Charlie Townsend and Tyler Gron. Gerry Festa had 31 saves for the Blaze. Wichita improves to 8-5-2, while Bloomington falls to 8-4-1. Wichita moves into third place in the CHL, one point ahead of Bloomington. Wichita is three points out of first place. Wichita hosts Quad City at 7:05 p.m. today.
