  • Several local businesses have recently welcomed some new faces to their organizations:Blair Loganbill Kidron Bethel VillageBlair Loganbill is the new director of nursing services at Kidron Bethel Village continuing care retirement community in North Newton. Loganbill has been involved in critical care at Via Christi Health for the past 17 years, as charge nurse/leader for the cardiac intensive care unit. He received Via Christi’s prestigious St. Catherine of Sienna Award in 2007 for the nurse best representing the company’s core values. He also won the Via Christi Service Medallion Award and received other performance acknowledgments. Loganbill earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing, as well as degrees in business administration and economics, from Bethel College in North Newton. “I am impressed by the compassion that Blair already has shown for our staff,” said Leigh Peck, executive director of health care and assisted living. “He is eager to learn about the best ways to support staff members in their caregiving roles.” A Moundridge native, Loganbill and his wife, Lisa, and their children live in Hesston, where they are active in Hesston Mennonite Church.Nikki Nold Axtell ClinicNikki Nold joined Axtell Clinic on Sept. 10, after completing her master of science in nursing from Wichita State University in August. Nold has lived in the Sedgwick area most of her life and graduated from Sedgwick High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University. She worked as a nurse for nine years before joining Axtell Clinic. She’s been married for 11 years and has three children, ages five, seven and nine. The addition of Nold allows Axtell to offer more convenient appointments to patients. Additional time now available is Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch hour appointments. Nold also is helping with Axtell's After Hours Clinic. Adding Nold to Axtell's staff has allowed Axtell to add Fridays and an additional hour to the After Hours Clinic. After Hours care is now available Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. for acute care needs. Nold is available Monday through Friday for appointments. You can reach Axtell Clinic at 283-2800.Patrice Flaming Prairie ViewPrairie View has announced the addition of Patrice Flaming, APRN, to its staff. "From the time of my first employment as a psychiatric nurse with the C. F. Menninger Hospital in Topeka, I have marveled over how our brains function and been inspired by our ability to change unhealthy patterns in our lives," she said. Flaming earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a master of nursing degree from Wichita State University and a post-master's certificate from Drexel University, Philadelphia. She most recently served as a certified nurse practitioner for adult psychiatric mental health at Philhaven, Mt. Gretna, Pa. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship. This is Flaming's third round of employment at Prairie View, returning after several moves out of the area. "I keep returning because I believe in the mission of Prairie View and desire to make a positive difference, to bring hope and healing to those we serve." She will provide services to individuals in surrounding long-term care facilities. Her treatment specialties include medication management for adults and older adults, nursing home services, aging and/or dementia related issues, depression, anxiety, and severe and persistent mental illness.
