  • HC women fall in OTHESSTON — The Hesston College women’s basketball team fell to Pratt Community College 71-65 Tuesday in overtime at Yost Center. Hesston trailed 33-31 at the half. Bryana Young tied the game 62-62 with 1:08 remaining in regulation. Neither team was able to score for the remainder of regulation. The Larks were held to three points in overtime. Pratt hit nine of 11 from the line in overtime. Hesston was outrebounded 42-29 for the game. Pratt, 3-0, was led by Newton High School grad Maddie Pendry with 17 points and nine rebounds. Tatiana Grant added 15 points. Elle Stein scored 11 points. Destiva Davis scored 16 points for Hesston. Young scored 15 points. Kelli Christenson scored 13 points. Hesston trailed 29-20 at the half. Hesston shot 19 of 58 for 32.8 percent. Pratt hit 27 of 61 for 44.3 percent. Hesston was outrebounded 41-23. Tied 8-8, Pratt made a 16-2 run. Pratt led by as many as 20 in the second half. Pierre Zook scored 29 points for Hesston. Pratt, 3-0, was led by Aaron Abram with 19 points, followed by Daylin Thomas with 12, Kazmere Boyd with 11 and Lucas Stivrins with 11.
