Have questions about KanCare and national health-care reform, and how it will impact you? You can attend a local forum this Saturday and ask questions about upcoming health-care changes at the state and federal levels.
WHAT: A presentation by Steve Kelly, president and CEO of Newton Medical Center, on KanCare (the state’s plan to convert Medicaid into managed care) and national health reform and what it means to the public. The event is sponsored by Asbury Park.
WHEN: Sessions are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, 1200 Boyd Ave. in Newton. Each session will last 30 minutes, with a question and answer period following.
MORE INFO: The event also coincides with an "all-you-can-eat" chicken and noodle dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, homemade dinner rolls and desert. Suggested donation for the meal is $6. All proceeds will go to Asbury Park’s Good Samaritan Fund.
