  • HESSTON — The Hesston High School football team opened district play with a 51-8 win over Circle Friday in Class 4A district play. Hesston quarterback Wyatt McKinney hit 14 of 24 passes for 196 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. Ryan Schadler added 22 rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler McCartney and Schadler each caught two touchdown passes. Grant Raliegh and John Birch each added one. Circle quarterback Garrett Hutson hit five of 17 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. Hutson also rushed for 56 yards. Hesston led 31-0 after the first quarter. The Swathers are 4-3 while Circle falls to 1-6.
