Mildred B. Trecek, daughter of Tom Shindler and Anna (Huncovsky) Shindler, was born on Jan. 28, 1916, in rural Cuba, Kan., and passed away on Oct. 5, 2012, at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Mildred attended Harper Grade School and graduated from Agenda High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Louis Trecek on Feb. 24, 1937, and to this union seven children were born: Ruth, Anita, David, Duane, Millard, Perry and Peggy. She was a farm wife and homemaker and very devoted to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anna Shindler; husband, Louis Trecek; son, Duane Trecek; granddaughter, Amanda Trecek; great-granddaughter, Logan Stewart; sister, Bertha; brother, Edward; granddaughter-in-law, Christine Stewart; and sister-in-law, Maxine Shindler.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Stewart and her husband, Jay of Polk City, Iowa, Anita Houdek and her husband, Dennis of Newton, and Peggy Latta and her husband, Brad of Downs; three sons, David Trecek and his wife, Marilyn of Agenda, Millard Trecek and his wife, Glenda of Agenda, and Perry Trecek and his wife, Linda of Agenda; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday (Oct. 8, 2012) at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, conducted by Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock. Interment will be in National Bohemian Cemetery in rural Cuba, Kan.
