Grace Hill to host Spanish worship night
A special evening of joyful music and worship will be conducted by the Iglesia Casa Betania congregation from Newton at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church at 5 p.m. October 14. Worship will be led by the Casa Betania praise band. A supper of burritos and/or tostadas will be served by Casa Betania at 6 p.m.
Casa Betania, led by their pastor, Jaime Cázares, is an enthusiastic, active and growing congregation, who is currently holding their worship services at the First Mennonite Church in Newton.
Come celebrate this community opportunity to share in the ministry of music, worship and prayer of Casa Betania. A free-will offering will be received for the mission and ministry of Casa Betania. Please RSVP by October 7 by emailing or calling Pastor Peter Goerzen at 316-799-2238 so that we can plan for the meal. The Grace Hill Church is located 7 miles east of Newton on First Street, 1 mile south and 1/2 mile east. All are welcome.
Blessing of the animals
Blessing of Animals will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2001 Windsor Drive.
Early each October, churches of various denominations – predominantly Catholic, Episcopal, and Lutheran – open their doors to all creatures great and small to honor St. Francis of Assisi (ca. 1181-1226), the patron saint of animals. St. Frances is universally recognized as their spiritual protector and is remembered with a service known simply as the "Blessing of the Animals."
Garage Sale planned at Shalom Mennonite Church
