MAIZE — Bethel College freshman Bree Honer posted Bethel’s highest finish in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA Central-West Regional Championships in several years.?The meet was hosted by Bethel and held Friday through Sunday.?Honer, from Shawnee, placed second in the tournament, which serves as the college tennis’ individual and doubles championships.?Honer opened with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Sofia Jaramillo of Graceland. In the quarterfinals, Honer downed teammate Steph Shogren 6-2, 6-0. In the semifinals, Honer downed third-seeded Katherine Rodriguez of Graceland 6-1, 7-5.?In the championship match, Honer fell to top-seeded Amy Grossklag of Evangel 6-0, 7-5.
