She was born on Oct. 31, 1931, in Newton, the daughter of Leoardia (Rodriguez) and Eusebio Arreguin.

On Sept. 20, 1976, she married Jimmy B. Cousins in Newkirk, Okla. He preceded her in death.

Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Newton.

Elma Marie Banman, 86, passed away on June 14, 2013, at her home in rural Hillsboro.

She was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Goessel, the daughter of William and Linda Enz Unruh. She had worked as a CNA for 47 years at both the Bethesda Hospital and then later at the Bethesda Home. She and her husband were foster parents to more than 125 children.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939, at Clifton, the son of Emery and Anne Smith Girard. He had worked as a field test technician for AGCO for 33 years. On Aug. 10, 1959, he married Mary Jane Dallen at Miltonvale. She survives in Hesston.

Gavino “Gabby” Corona, 89, of Newton, died Thursday (June 13, 2013) at Newton Medical Center.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1924, in Waukegan, Ill., the son of Gertrudes and Casimira Gutierrez Corona. The family moved to Newton when Gabby was a teenager. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Gavino married Margaret Estrada on Oct. 12, 1946, in Newton. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for many years, retiring in 1984.
