MARION — Gerald Dean Kelsey, 69, died on Sunday (Sept. 23, 2012) in Wichita following a long illness. He was born on June 21, 1943, in Marion, the son of Donald and Viola Janzen Kelsey. He grew up and attended school at Marion, graduating from Marion High School. Gerald was a retired Marion County road and bridge superintendent. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; daughter, Kristine Hardisty of Salina; sons, Kerry (Lori) of Marion, and Michael (Jennifer) of Newton; brothers, Bud (Tressie) and Randy (Kodi), both of Marion, Ron (Linn) of Hiawatha, and Doug (Mary) of Solomon; his sisters, Donna (Max) Hayen, Neva (Lyndon) Hett, and Lori (Kevin) Fruechting, all of Marion, and Kathy (Mark) Rathert of Colorado; eight grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Marion Christian Church. There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion.
