EL DORADO — Harold Kenneth Harder was born on April 21, 1927, and raised in rural Brainerd. Harold invested 20 years of service with the Central Kansas Prison Ministry. Farming and enjoying his grandchildren also filled his time.?Despite a grim prognosis with pancreatic cancer, Harold was confident His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’s death on the cross assured him a place in Heaven once his life here was over. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”?Harold was ushered from this life into the presence of His Creator on Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2012).?He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Burnham) Harder; daughter, Becky Craft; and three brothers and four sisters.?He is survived by his wife, Betty (Schrag) Harder; sons, Cliff (and Connie) Harder of Austin, Texas, Gary (and Dianna) Harder of El Dorado, Tim (and Brenda) Harder of El Dorado, and Chuck (and Jennifer) Harder of Mansfield, Mo.; son-in-law, David (and Christy) Craft of Manhattan; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerhard and Art; and sisters, Elsie Regier and Ella Harnly.?Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 13, 2012) at the Emmaus Church Hearth Room. Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday (Sept. 14, 2012) at the Emmaus Cemetery, immediately followed by the memorial service at the Emmaus Church at 11 a.m.?Memorials are: Berean Academy in Elbing and Central Kansas Prison Ministry in El Dorado, and can be sent to Emmaus Church, 9070 N.W.
