Henry J. Patterson, 83, longtime resident of Burleson, Texas, emeritus professor of education, TCU, passed away on Friday (July 27, 2012).
Henry was born on Feb. 27, 1929, in Newton to Edward C. and Rosa Patterson. He received four degrees: a doctor of education from the University of Arizona, specialist of education, and a master’s of science and a bachelor of science from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. He taught at Texas Christian University for 35 years and was the associate dean in the School of Education.
Survivors are sons, Hal of Burleson, Kip of Houston and Kim of Plano; daughter, Lynn of Jay, Maine; grandson, Matthew Hess; and great-grandchildren, Blaire and Mathias Hess, all of Jay, Maine. He leaves behind other relatives, including many nieces and nephews and a host of dear and loving friends.  
He was preceded in death by Lois, his loving wife of 59 years; five brothers, Melvin Lloyd, Louis E., Lawrence E., Lowell E. and Donald C. Patterson; and one sister, Rosa Looney.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church of Burleson, 590 N.E. McAlister Road.
