The 102nd Kansas Amater ended with a clash of Kansas State University golfers.Kyle Smell of Overland Park, last year’s runner-up, topped K-State roomate Ben Juffer of West Des Moines, Iowa, two-up in the 36-hole final Sunday at Sand Creek Station.Smell won five of six holes at one point in the second round of play in the finals to overcome a three-hole deficit.“It feels great … honestly it’s hard to explain right now. I don’t think it’s hit me,” Smell said. “To be from so close last year, being a one seed and feeling really good about it, (losing) was more of a humbling experience and I was glad I could come out of it.
