Garcia allowed three hits with four strikeouts, improving to 7-1.

Wichita starter Josh Lowey took the loss, falling to 10-3. Lowey gave up five runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts. James Baker and Edgar Martinez each went an inning.

Amarillo scored on a passed ball in the top of the third inning. Harrison Kain hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh. Jerry Verastegui added an RBI single in the seventh.

Derrek Pyles went three for four hitting for Amarillo. Verastegui went two for four with two runs scored. Tyler Goodro and Garrett Rau also went two for four hitting.

Wichita falls to 37-28, but still maintains a 2 1/2-game lead over the Kansas City T-Bones in the AA Central. Amarillo improves to 35-31, 5 1/2 games behind Grand Prairie in the AA South.

Wichita begins a 15-game road trip at 7:30 p.m. today at Laredo.
