Steve Carrillo, who scored the winning run, reached base in the ninth after a dropped third strike.

Conroy went two for four hitting with four RBIs, hitting a three-run home run in the third inning.

Ryan Khoury went two for five hitting for Wichita with two runs scored. John Rodriguez went two for four with an RBI. David Peralta went two for four. Jared McDonald added an RBI.

For Amarillo, Mitch Abeita went three for four with two RBIs. Harrison Kain went three for five with an RBI. Chuck Lofgren and Derrick Pyles each went two for four with an RBI.

Wichita’s Jared Simon threw one inning to get the win and improve to 2-4. Chad Povich took the loss for Amarillo, falling to 3-1.

Wichita is 36-27. Amarillo is 34-30. The two teams meet again at 7:05 p.m. today at Lawrence-Dumont.
