Texas Ranger third baseman Michael Young has been named the 2012 National Baseball Congress Graduate of the Year.

Young is a seven-time American League All-Star. He holds a .302 lifetime batting average with 2,157 hits, 1,046 runs scored, 172 home runs and 952 RBIs.

Young played college baseball at California-Santa Barbara. He played for the Alaska Goldpanners in 1996, and was the Goldpanners MVP that season.
