Tied 5-5 after five innings, the Sox came up with four unanswered runs to take command of the game.

Wichita did outhit Amarillo 13-10.

Mitch Abeita went three for three hitting for the Sox with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Adam Buschini went four for five hitting with four runs scored, a home run and two RBIs. Chuck Lofgren also drove in two runs.

For Wichita, David Peralta went two for four hitting with a run scored and an RBI. Mark Wagner went two for five with a run scored and an RBI. Mason Morioka went three for four with an RBI.

Trent Lare threw 1 1-3 innings of relief for the Sox to claim the win. James Baker took the loss for Wichita.

Amarillo improves to 34-29, 5 1/2 games behind Grand Prairie in the American Association South.

Wichita falls to 35-27, 1 1/2 games ahead of the Kansas City T-Bones in the AA Central.

Wichita and Amarillo meet at 7:05 p.m. today at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

NEVAREZ SOLD Wichita Wingnuts pitcher Matt Nevarez has been purchased by the Tampa Bay Rays. Nevarez was 3-2 with Wichita with a 3.08 earned-run-average and seven saves. He struck out 45 in 26 1-3 innings. Wichita activated pitcher Andrew Aizenstadt from the seven-day disabled list and placed infielder Blake Bergeron on the seven-day disabled list.
