The Hesston High School softball team claimed a pair of wins over Nickerson Friday at home in Central Kansas League play.

Hesston won the first game 11-1 and the second game 12-2. Both games were halted in six innings on the 10-run rule.

In the first game, Hesston pitcher Aubrey Denno allowed an unearned run on two hits with six walks and 11 strikeouts.

Hesston scored in all but the fourth inning.

Denno went two for three hitting with two RBIs. Danika Good drove in three runs. Megan Voth, Mikaela Needles and Jordan Shirley all went two for four hitting.

In the second game, Denno pitched the first three innings for the win, allowing a run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Good finished the game, allowing an unearned run on three hits with a walk.

Abby Shirley went three for three hitting with two RBIs. Denno went three for three hitting. Tayler Suhler went three for four. Voth and Darian Gonzalez each went two for four.

Hesston improves to 11-5, 9-5 in CKL play. Hesston plays Tuesday at Kingman.
