The Hesston High School boys’ tennis team placed seventh out of 15 teams Saturday at the Wichita Collegiate Tournament of Champions.


The Hesston High School boys’ tennis team placed seventh out of 15 teams Saturday at the Wichita Collegiate Tournament of Champions.

Collegiate won the meet, followed by McPherson, Bishop Carroll, Hutchinson Trinity and Parsons.

Hesston was led by the doubles team of Dean Dahlsten and Peter Jensen, who finished ninth at 4-1. Cole Burnside and Alex Ferguson took 10th at 3-2.

Keegan LeFevre took 11th in singles at 3-2. Collin Martin took 19th at 3-2.

“I thought all of our kids had some really good moments today,” Hesston coach Mark Dahlsten said. “There are no easy matches at this tournament, and our guys really have some good efforts.”

Hesston hosts its second invitational of the season at 10 a.m. today.
