The Hesston College menís basketball team won two of three recent games.

Friday, Hesston fell to Rhema Bible Training Center 80-78 in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Hesston led 44-40 at the half. Joshua White hit a layup with 24 seconds in regulation to break a 78-78 tie. Hesston missed two shots and a free throw in the remaining time.

Kasey Byrd scored 26 points for Rhema, 5-13. White scored 15 points with 11 rebounds. Parris Hoskins and Caylan Andre each scored 12 points.

Mahlon Jones scored 36 points for the Larks. Pierre Zook added 25 points.

Monday, Hesston topped the Southwestern College junior varsity 92-62 at Yost Center.

Hesston led 56-34 at the half.

Zook scored 28 points, followed by Jones with 25, Armond Patterson with 12 and Drew Emmert with 10.

Southwestern was led by Darell Veal with 12 points and Alex Tyler with 10. Newton High School grad Isaiah Thaw scored nine points. Newton grad Kyle Preston scored two points.

Tuesday, Hesston downed the Tabor College junior varsity 91-69. Scoring details were not released at press time.

Hesston is 11-10 and hosts Brown Mackie College at 8 p.m. Feb. 1 in Region VI play.
