At 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyck Arboretum of the Plains, the Prairie Window Concert Series will host The Ragbirds.

The concert will take place in the new Prairie Pavilion at the arboretum overlooking the lake. Tickets are by reservation by calling (620) 327-8127. Cost is $20 for adults and $12 for children. Proceeds benefit the arboretum’s mission that promotes environmental landscaping with native plants.

Energy is abundant throughout the multi-dimensional music of The Ragbirds, a five-piece band from Ann Arbor, Mich. Their sound can be described as a mixture of folk rock and pop hooks over danceable world rhythms. Led by multi-instrumentalist Erin Zindle, The Ragbirds create songs using everything from a Celtic fiddle to a mandolin to an accordion. Since their formation in 2005, The Ragbirds have sold over 10,000 albums and perform over 150 concerts a year, crossing the nation in their tour bus that runs on recycled waste vegetable oil.

In addition to high quality acoustic music, the Prairie Window Concert Series provides the option of savory soups using local ingredients by Claire Williams (Catering by Claire) and fresh breads and desserts by Paula Sims (Morning Harvest Farms).
