Caring Hands Humane Society, which was awareded a $21,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to refinish floors.

“Nichole,” of Newton, who found a way to cope with her mother’s cancer diagnosis by sewing and giving her work away.

The Edwards family, which opened Taste of New Orleans, a  resturant servien Louisianna cuisine in downtown Newton.

Katrina Harvey, Walton, who participated in the Global Enterprise Challenge.

David Swisher and his family, of Newton, who completed the large project of  building a gingerbread church in time for Christmas.

Sedgwick downtown historic district, which has officially been named to the Register of Historic Kansas Places, qualifying the city for special grants and tax credits.

Gina Swickard of Newton, who was reunited with dog Quincy through Caring Hands Humane Society.

Lili Burkhart, David Ladwig, Colton Leinbach, Renata Goossen and Lydia Driskill, who are students from Berean Academy who participated in the South Central Music Educators Association Middle School Honor Band.
