Rachel E. Donovan, 78, was welcomed home by her Savior, September 25, 2011, from Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.  
 She was born June 24, 1933, in Briggsdale, Colorado, the daughter of David M. and Alta C. Hutchins Barker.  
On May 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Clyde D. Donovan in Puyallup, Washington. In the mid-1950’s the couple moved to Wichita, their family would grow to include 5 children.  Rachel was instrumental in starting the Grace Baptist Church in Whitewater. She enjoyed painting, photography, sewing, gardening and canning; but her greatest love was for her Lord and her family.
 Rachel was preceded in death by her son Duane; and siblings: Lloyd Barker, Ardell Alexander, Willetti Wonser, and Rutheda LaCrosse.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, Clyde Donovan of Valley Center; children: Diana Kuntz (husband — Dennis) of Abilene; Gerald Donovan (wife — Kristin) of Kuhn Ming, China; Linda Ashenfelter (husband — Eric) of Denver, Colorado; and Mark Donovan (wife — Leslie) of Wichita; brother Merrill Barker of Puyallup, Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  
Visitation with family will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Grace Baptist Church in Whitewater. Interment will be in the Whitewater Cemetery.   A memorial fund has been established for Grace Baptist Church in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
