New class for Tweens and Teens — Splash Dance — 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a fun, new, water aerobics class that encourages fitness for kids! ESP eligible. Instructor: Brenda Clark.
New class — Take Control With Exercise — Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program — 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Developed by physical therapists specifically for arthritis, this low-impact exercise-based program uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion and helps maintain muscle strength. This program also helps increase overall stamina. Taught by Fred Saab, certified Arthritis Foundation instructor. Scholarships are available.
Women’s Self Defense — 1 to 4 p.m. today, for ages 12 and older. Learn how to defend yourself when someone is trying to attack you. With the guidance of NRC Tae Kwon Do instructor Dany Monares, you will gain self confidence and learn effective techniques to defend yourself against an attacker.
Kids and Nature — 4 to 4:45 p.m. Mondays through Oct. 10 for ages 6 to 9 years. In this class, kids will learn how to be stewards of the environment. Concepts will be explored through role playing, games, see-touch-feel demonstrations, service projects and crafts. Instructor: Audrey Gann.
Kansas Optimizing Health Program — 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Oct. 25. Do you or someone you love live with arthritis, diabetes, heart or lung disease, asthma or the effects of a stroke on a daily basis? This free program developed by Stanford University is designed to help improve - “One Step At A Time.” Learn to “KOHP” with a chronic health condition. This is a free interactive and motivational education workshop. Those who live with a chronic health condition, or are close to someone who lives with a chronic health condition, should attend. Cooking-4-Kids — 4 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays through Oct. 11 for ages 7 to 9. Kids will learn to make simple but tasty meals and snacks the whole family will enjoy. Instructor: Audrey Gann.
Water Babies — 5 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 20 through Sept. 29 for ages 6 months to 3 years. Introduce your infant to the water and encourage exploration into the basic concepts of swimming and water enjoyment. This program promotes water safety knowledge and practices, aquatic adjustment and swimming readiness skills. Emphasis in this session will be put on development of warm and trusting relationships between parents and children and the instructor. Instructor: Cathy Woodward.
 Cookies and Cupcakes — 1 to 2 p.m. today for ages 5 through 12 years. Come and decorate your own cookies and cupcakes. Everything you will need is here and ready for you to use. Every child will get six cookies or cupcakes to decorate. Come and join the messy fun. Instructor: Tanya Buentello.

Toddler Gym Time – 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursdays, Sept. 29 through Oct. 20 for ages 18 months to 4 years. Let your toddlers have fun while working on his or her listening skills. Participants will use balls, parachutes and their own silliness in this entertaining class. Instructor: Candice Egizi.
Pre-School Tae Kwon Do — 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 1 and Oct. 8 for ages 2 to 4 years. Has your little one been intrigued by Tae Kwon Do on television? This class is an introductory Tae Kwon Do class which will emphasize discipline, courtesy and respect, and help develop motor skills with a whole lot of fun mixed in.
