The Wichita Wingnuts won their fourth straight game, dropping the Kansas City T-Bones 8-3 Thursday in American Association play at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita.


The Wichita Wingnuts won their fourth straight game, dropping the Kansas City T-Bones 8-3 Thursday in American Association play at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita.

A Josh Workman grand slam in the bottom of the first inning set the tone for the Wingnuts. Josh Horn added an RBI double in the second inning.

Mike Conroy went three for five hitting for Wichita with an RBI. Thomas Fitzgerald went three for four. Conroy, Brent Clevlen and Edwin Bellorin each had an RBI.

Aaron Eggleston hit a two-run home run for Kansas City in the second inning. Ray Sadler went two for four hitting.

Derek Blacksher, 6-7, went seven innings for Wichita in the win, allowin three runs on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

Matt Mitchell, 2-4, took the loss for Kansas City, 33-38.

Wichita is 40-31. The two teams meet at 7:05 p.m. today in Kansas City, Kan. Wichita won’t play at home again until Aug. 16.
