The answer
Governor Sam Brownback was a protestant but converted to Catholicism in 2002. He attends Christ the King Church in Topeka, according to his press office in Topeka. A representative of that office also called him a daily communicant, meaning he attends church almost daily.

What this means to you
Brownback has been an outspoken opponent of abortion. He also was quoted on the Larry King show as saying he supported the controversy between intelligent design and evolution being taught in public schools.
He has supported a partnership between faith-based organization and government social services to address social problems. He has supported Out4Life, a proposed cooperation between the Kansas Department of Corrections and Prison Fellowship, a faith-based group near Washington, D.C.
Brownback also has said he supports marriage as a means of decreasing child poverty.
