I am writing to say a long overdue thank you to the Newton Rotary Club. During the past few years since I have been employed by the local school district as a physical educator they have been most generous. I may not be aware of all they have done but here is a list of what I do know of. They have given dictionaries to all third graders in Newton and I think the county, purchased a laptop computer for Northridge Elementary, purchased Cube Chairs for Cooper Early Education Center, painted a map of the United States on several school playgrounds and purchased Wii gaming systems for the elementary and middle schools in Newton. In an era of budget cuts organizations such as the Rotary Club are really stepping up to the plate to help out. I want to personally thank them and let them know that what they do is much appreciated.
