Newton police are continuing to investigate a stabbing that allegedly occurred after an argument about a college basketball game.
A 28-year-old Newton man was at a barbecue on March 12 when an argument ensued over a college basketball game, said Lt. Eric Murphy of the Newton Police Department.
The attacker stabbed the victim in the side five times, Murphy said. The victim was taken by ambulance to Newton Medical Center and later transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He has since been released.
Police have spoken to members of the group who were gathered for the event, but no arrests yet have been made, Murphy said.
