The Newton Head Start program has struck a bump in the road — the program shut down today, though should reopen next week.

Head Start officials have chosen to change the contracted provider of Head Start services, leading to the program closing to reorganize with a new provider.

According to the current provider, Mid-Kansas Community Action Program, the program should reopen with at the same location and with the same teachers next week.
