Newton, you did us proud! Please accept my most humble thanks for your outstanding participation in showing your true colors of patriotic pride and spirit at our “Patriotism in Education” event this past Friday night! Didn't we have a great time?
Sunset first graders, you stole the show; never forget your special recitation of our flag salute. Mrs. Cameron, thank you for so teaching! Entire Newton Police Department and especially Mr. Chad Gay, thank you for excellent execution in all official duties for security. Mr. Bill Ryan and American Legion Patriots, bless and thank you for your honorable guard so proudly displayed. To Mrs. Donna Woolrey and the NHS boys’ ensemble in song for our National anthem, you blessed and inspired us. Thank you, Principal Mr. Ken Rickard, (honorable veteran that you are) and Athletic Director Mr. Brian Engleken, for your full and total cooperation of supporting my dream. And to Mr. Chad Frey of  The Newton Kansan, who interviewed me first two years ago, to get this flag on a roll: we’re still rollin’ and I count it all joy! Thanks to all! Friday night in Ravenscroft gym showed us there are still folks aplenty who love living in America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!
