Esther Evon (Kingsley) Wiens, 88, passed away on Saturday (Feb. 19, 2011).

Esther Evon (Kingsley) Wiens, 88, passed away on Saturday (Feb. 19, 2011).
She was the fifth of six children born to Lewis and Estella Eastman Kingsley. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1941, and she married Albert “Bud” Wesley Wiens on Jan. 30, 1942. Bud preceded her in death on May 26, 1993.
Bud and Esther lived in Furley, managing the Furley Grain Elevator and raising their three children. Upon retirement, they moved to Coyville and enjoyed their “mini farm,” gardening in the fertile soil.
After Bud’s death in 1993, Esther moved to El Dorado to be close to family.
Esther leaves behind her children, Terry Wiens and wife, Kim, of Great Bend, Steven Wiens of Furley, and Cynthia Lemke and husband, Mike, of El Dorado; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Minnie Jackson of El Dorado; and brothers, Mitchell Kingsley of Beaumont, Texas, and Earl Kingsley of Ford.
Visitation with the family will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a service at 2 p.m. at Furley United Methodist Church, 400 E. Fourth in Furley. Burial will follow at the Green Valley Cemetery in rural Furley. A memorial has been established with Wheat State Manor, 601 S. Main St., Whitewater, KS 67154.
