JoAnne Thaw, Newton High School gymnastics coach, for being named the National Federation of State High School Associations National Coach of The Year.

Hallie Watkins of Newton, for selling 1,058 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Kay Self of Newton, for organizing the Patriotism in Education night at Newton High School.

Mark Jantzen of Bethel College, for earning the school’s David H. Richert Distinguished Scholar Award.

Dr. Donna Ewy of Wichita Clinic Bethel for earning board certification in hospice and palliative medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine.
