A pair of struggling teams will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Thresher Field when the Bethel College football team hosts the Southwestern Moundbuilders.Bethel is 0-7, 0-6 in KCAC play while Southwestern is 1-6, 1-5 in conference play. Bethel is coming off a 55-7 loss to rival Tabor last week in a game where the Threshers were hampered by five turnovers. Southwestern fell to McPherson 55-21.Southwestern is led by running back Cory Holbert with 83 carries for 399 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Jordan Barrett has hit 76 of 158 passes for 934 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions. Wayne Clutter leads the team in receiving with 406 yards on 32 catches with three touchdowns.On defense, Nathan Richter has 100 total tackles, followed by Zak Tazakargy with 93 and Josh Plummer with 59. Hunter Walker has 4.5 quarterback sacks, followed by Weston Mills with 3.5 and Tazgargy with 3.0. Tazgargy and Plummer each have two interceptions.Austin Leady has hit six of nine field goal atttempts with a long of 41 yards. Lorenzo Fouts averages 20 yards a kickoff return in 28 attempts.For the Threshers, quarterback Jason Vail has hit 62 of 123 passes for 847 yards with seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Garrett Hiebert has hit 54 of 115 passes for 645 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions.Vail leads the team in rushing with 58 carries for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Ben Suchsland has 35 carries for 129 yards and a touchdown.Andrew McNary leads the team in receiving with 515 yards on 26 carries with six touchdowns. Kyle Berg has 21 catches for 229 yards and a touchdown, followed by Austin Unruh with 16 catches for 216 yards and two scores.Chris Bloss leads the Thresher defense with 61 total tackles, followed by Lance Loganbill with 46 and Caleb Stephens with 42. Stephens has 13.0 tackles for a loss and 4.0 sacks.McNary averages 17.3 yards a kickoff return, followed by Cameron Stultz at 16.8.Seniors playing their final home game for the Threshers include Chris Correll, Austin McGregor, Hiebert, Derrick Law, Bloss, Stephens, Aaron Clement, Andrew Wiederholt and Matt Regier.
