It's open forum week. What's on your mind?

• If administrators wish to build trust with teachers, maybe they should follow some of the same advice they so often give to teachers. If you want students to be successful, you have to build relationships with them. The same is true for principals and teachers.

• Republican leaders, including Tea Partiers, are again counting on the ignorance of voters to win an election. We showed them in 2008 (by electing President Obama) we are not as stupid as they think we are. Let’s show the Republicans in November 2010 that we do not want them back in power by electing congressmen who will help Obama rather than help the corporations. A lot of foreign money is being spent in this U.S. election. That, in itself, should alert voters to the fact that foreigners are not interested in the welfare of the United States. We have something even more powerful than all their money — our votes.

• You don't take your dog to a restaurant with you, so don’t take them to the Taste of Newton.

• Yes, I got my flu shot. I have been getting it for more than 50 years. In the 1950s, had Asian flu and got very sick. Been 50 years now and I’ve never had the flu. Get the flu shot.
